The company is responsible for issuing Crypto.com's debit cards which allow users to spend their cryptocurrency anywhere debit cards are accepted (Coin Telegraph) The founder of another fintech company promising crypto credit cards is behind bars after committing securities and wire fraud. Robert Farkas, the founder of Centra Tech, pled guilty on Tuesday to scamming over $25M from investors, partially aided by celebrity endorsements from DJ Khaled and Floyd Mayweather (Coin Telegraph) The K League, South Korea's professional soccer league, has announced plans to tokenize player's likenesses and allow fans to trade tokens and use them to play fantasy soccer (Coindesk) CRYPTO AND BLOCKCHAIN NEWS Cryptocurrency Spotlight:  Kevin Zhou, the former head of cryptocurrency trading at the Kraken exchange, is now heading up a cryptocurrency quant fund holding $23M in assets and whose trading volume soared to $1.4B between 2018 and 2019 (Coin Desk) If you haven't yet heard, late last night President Trump nominated SEC Chairman Jay Clayton to replace US Attorney for the Southern District Geoffrey Berman, although Berman denied that he was vacating his role (Coindesk) In other President Trump news, former National Security Advisor John Bolton reportedly claims in his new exposé that Trump ordered Secretary of the Treasure Steve Mnuchin to "go after Bitcoin" for fraud during a conversation concerning sanctions in China (Coindesk) Chairman of the Federal Reserve Jerome Powell believes that private banking institutions should not be involved in the development of a central bank digital dollar (Coindesk) International Spotlight: Akon's Crypto City project in Senegal has a new backer: US-based engineering firm KE International awarded the project a $6B contract to build the city, which will include shopping centers, residences, hotels, and public utility facilities (Coin Telegraph) Binance is expanding to the UK: the cryptocurrency platform plans to launch in late 2020 to service financial institutions (Coin Telegraph) The National Bank of Cambodia released a white paper detailing plans to launch a blockchain-based payments system for its constituents (Coindesk) The Bank of Thailand is moving forward with plans to test a central bank digital currency, partnering with the country's largest cement and building material provider and a fintech firm to run the pilot program (Coin Telegraph) Attorney Advertising.
