In response to growing adoption of bitcoin, the Governor of Colorado has announced that the state will accept bitcoin for state tax payments beginning in June, 2022.
Governor Jared Polis hinted the state would use an online blockchain-based funding portal to facilitate tax collection and other government services.
“Using an external-facing portal, we expect by this summer to accept crypto for all of our state-related tax purposes, and then we plan to roll that out for all of the state government, for things like — could be as simple as — driver’s license or hunting license within a few months after that.” (Motley Fool)
